Get ready to pedal your way to a great time in the Mount Vernon District! Join me and the Fairfax Alliance for Better Bicycling (FABB) for the 10th Annual Tour de Mount Vernon Community Bike Ride on Saturday, October 18, starting and ending at the Woodlawn & Pope-Leighey House. This special 10th Anniversary Ride will be packed with adventure, fun, a few challenges, and yes, cool socks (while supplies last)! All set against the backdrop of our area’s rich historical and cultural treasures.

Here’s what you need to know:

The ride kicks off at 8:30 a.m., with cyclists choosing between a 40-mile or 20-mile route. Check-in will begin at 7:45 a.m.

Riders will explore the northern and central Mount Vernon District, featuring Potomac Banks’ historical, ecological and cultural sites. Including George Washington’s Mount Vernon, River Farm, Historic Gum Springs and the newly renovated Mount Vernon Rec Center!

Whether you’re a biking enthusiast or just looking for a fun ride through beautiful landscapes, this is your chance to enjoy a scenic journey with fellow cyclists.

Fairfax County Police and ride monitors will be on hand to help keep you safe and on the right path, so all you need to focus on is enjoying the ride! The day will wrap up with music, camaraderie, our famous sweet potato chili and beverages for purchase by Bunnyman Brewing.

Whether you’re a seasoned cyclist or just looking for a fun and active Saturday morning, there’s something for everyone at the Tour de Mount Vernon. Grab your helmet, fill up your water bottle and register today to join the fun: fairfaxcounty.gov/mountvernon/tour-de-mount-vernon-2025
