As Virginia’s annual tax-free weekend approaches Aug. 2-4, more than 30 retailers in Old Town will participate by covering the sales tax on all purchases including those items not usually part of the sales tax holiday.
During the statewide sales tax holiday, in-person and online purchases of qualifying school supplies, clothing, footwear, hurricane and emergency preparedness items, and Energy Star and WaterSense products will not incur a sales tax.
In Old Town, retailers are sweetening the shopping experience by covering sales tax on all purchases, even those that fall outside the state tax-free guidelines, beginning Friday, Aug. 2 through Sunday, Aug. 4.
Participating stores include: ERA; Mint Condition; CalmConnectWell Self-Care Gifts; Bishop Boutique; Little Birdies; Pacers Running; Vida Style Shop; The Pink Reef; Mystique Jewelers; She’s Unique; Red Barn Mercantile; Ten Thousand Villages; The Hive; The Shoe Hive; Gold Works USA; Monday’s Child; Vintage Mirage; Salon DeZen; Creme de la Crème; Bloomers; Ms. Moxie’s Moon Shop; Boxwood; 529 Kids Consign; Encore Consignment Boutique; Bellacara; Patina Polished Living; American In Paris; Sara Campbell; Penny Post; Pippin Toy Co.; and Principle Gallery.
