The Alexandria Police Department is investigating an industrial accident in the 700 block of Wythe Street. On Wednesday, Oct. 19, around 7:30 a.m., a crane struck a live electrical wire at a construction site. The wire fell, striking a 44-year-old male construction worker. The victim suffered electrical burns and was transported to a local hospital. He is in critical but stable condition. Detectives continue to investigate the incident. The Alexandria Police Department is investigating a robbery in the 3400 block of King Street. Two suspects implied a weapon and stole items from the victim. There were no injuries. Expect police activity in the area.
WEDNESDAY, OCT. 19
The Alexandria Police Department is investigating the robbery of a gas station in the 500 block S Van Dorn Street. A suspect brandished firearm and stole cash; there were no injuries.
MONDAY, OCT. 17
The Alexandria Police Department is investigating a shots fired call in the 1200 block Wythe of Street. The initial investigation has not located anyone with injuries.
