Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department units responded to a house fire on Tuesday, July 29, at approximately 9:45 a.m., in the Alexandria area of Fairfax County. The single-family home is located at 4000 Buckman Road.

Firefighters encountered smoke and fire coming from an enclosed rear porch and extending to the attic area in the one-story home upon arrival. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire. The home was vacant. There were no injuries.

Damage is estimated at $50,000.

The fire started in the enclosed porch area and is under investigation.
