Chamber Honors Police and Firefighters

— The Mount Vernon-Lee Chamber of Commerce honored public safety personnel at its 5th Annual Police and Firefighters Tribute held Friday evening, Sept. 21, at the Belle Haven Country Club. Barbara Doyle, CEO of Inova Mount Vernon Hospital and president of the chamber welcomed police, emergency medical personnel, firefighters and their families to this community celebration of dedication, valor, and service. Scott Thuman, with ABC 7/ WJLA TV served as the guest emcee for the event. The Tribute Sponsor was Super Walmart of Kings Crossing, and store manager William Hunsucker.

Red Stripes sponsors include Ourisman of Alexandria, Burke and Herbert Bank, Tony Riolo and Dominion Virginia Power, Tim Sargeant. White Stars sponsors included Inova Mount Vernon Hospital; Redmon, Peyton & Braswell, LLP with attorney Dan Rinzel, and Progressive Firefighter of Fairfax County Local 2068, John Niemiec, president. Blue Banner sponsors were Occasionally Cake, Sabrina Campbell; Four Sales Ltd., Daniel Saunders; Mount Vernon Athletic Club, Aaron Volbrecht; Paul Spring Retirement Community; Mount Vernon Nursing & Rehabilitation Center; Baywood Hotels which owns and operates on Richmond Highway Springhill Suites; Holiday Inn Express, and the new Candlewood Suites and the Belvoir Federal Credit Union, Stephanie Crabtree.
