"We're Still Here: Celebrating an African American Community at Fort Ward." 1 to 4 p.m. Free. A commemorative program recognizing the post-Civil War African American community known as "The Fort" at Fort Ward. Program held on the front lawn of Fort Ward Museum, followed by a wreath-laying ceremony at the grave site of Clara Adams, a matriarch of the community who was born on June 2, 1865.
